Common questions

How does the voice cloning work?
Record 30 seconds of yourself talking naturally — phone audio is fine. Upload it from your dashboard's Voice settings. We generate the voice clone via Cartesia and your AI starts using it on the very next call. The clone is free to create on every plan; we use Instant Voice Cloning which sounds great over phone audio. Pro Voice Cloning (studio-grade, accent capture) is available on the Growth Stack tier for customers who also want the same voice for marketing videos.
Will my customers know they're talking to AI?
Yes — the AI is friendly and professional, but it identifies itself as an AI assistant whenever asked. Most callers don't ask, because what matters to them is whether their question gets answered or their appointment gets booked. Both happen.
Does it really speak Spanish?
Yes — fluently. Turn on bilingual mode and the AI mirrors whichever language the caller starts in, and switches mid-call if the caller switches. Caller names, topics, and notes are stored verbatim in whatever language the caller used, so a "José" stays "José" on your dashboard regardless of which language the conversation happened in.
What happens if someone calls with a real emergency?
On Enterprise+, the AI detects urgency keywords (burst pipe, flooding, no heat, gas smell, stuck, fire) plus real-time-impact language ("right now", "happening now") and bridges the caller directly to you — even outside business hours. You get an "EMERGENCY" SMS at the same time so you know what you're walking into before answering. This is independent of regular call transfer, which lets any caller ask to speak with you live during business hours.
Does AlphaAssist integrate with my CRM?
On Professional+, every captured call fires a webhook (works with Zapier, Make, n8n, or your custom HTTP receiver). On Enterprise+, we add native one-click integrations — Jobber and HubSpot are both live today. Connect once → Jobber gets each call as a Client + Request; HubSpot gets a Contact + Note (or Contact + Task for scheduled callbacks). Both work within seconds of call completion.
Can I keep my existing business number?
Yes. You can either use the local number we provision for you, or port your existing business line in from your current carrier. Port-ins typically take 5–10 business days, and your old line keeps working until the cutover. The port flow lives in your dashboard.
What happens if I go over my plan's limits?
Calls keep going through. Overages are billed at $0.15 per call minute and $0.05 per SMS — added to your next invoice. Email is included in every plan and not metered for overage. If you regularly run over, the dashboard will suggest upgrading to the next tier where the per-unit cost drops.
What if the AI says something wrong?
Every change you make in the dashboard — hours, services, prices, what you'd like callers told — takes effect on the next call. If a caller asks something the AI doesn't know, it takes a message and texts you so you can follow up directly. The AI doesn't make up answers.
Is my data secure?
Calls are encrypted in transit. Payments are processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card. We don't sell call recordings, transcripts, or contact data to anyone. See our privacy policy for the full breakdown.
How long does setup take?
About 10 minutes. You answer a short form (business info, hours, services), pick a voice, and we provision your number. You can be live the same day. Everything is editable afterward.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. No contracts, no cancellation fee. You can cancel from your Stripe billing portal in your dashboard, and your service runs through the end of the current billing period.
Does it integrate with my calendar?
Yes — Google Calendar. The AI checks availability before offering appointment slots, books the appointment on your calendar, and sends the customer a confirmation text. (More calendar integrations on request.)
